By the time it lands on a project, no one knows what quarry it came from, when it was cut, or whether it was machine-sawn or hand-finished. That is the problem we set out to solve.
Every stone begins at the source. We partner directly with trusted quarries and skilled artisans across Mexico, maintaining close relationships that ensure quality, authenticity, and consistency from extraction to delivery.

Ordering & shipping
How long does shipping take?
Every order is made to order at our quarries in Mexico. Production plus transit runs 2–4 weeks from order confirmation, and we ship from Laredo, Texas. Your exact date is confirmed when the order is placed.
Do you ship outside the United States?
Currently we ship within the continental US, Alaska, and Hawaii. International orders are handled case-by-case for trade accounts only — contact us through the trade program.
Can I track my order?
Yes. Once your order ships, you'll receive a tracking number by email. You can also use our Order tracking page to check status with your order number and email.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Inspect every box at delivery and note any visible damage on the carrier's delivery slip. Photograph the damage and email us at marla@marlastoneco.com within 48 hours. We replace damaged tiles at no charge.
What's your return policy?
Unopened boxes can be returned within 30 days for a refund minus 15% restocking fee and return shipping. Custom cuts and partial boxes are non-returnable. Trade accounts have extended terms.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link by Stripe. Trade accounts qualify for Net 30 terms after their third order.
Material & measurements
How much extra should I order for waste?
We recommend 10% extra for a straight lay, 15% for a standard installation, and 20% for layouts with more cuts (diagonals, herringbone, many corners). Our online calculator starts at 15% and lets you change it.
Can you do custom cuts or special sizes?
Yes. For projects requiring non-standard sizes, custom edges, or matched veining, request a custom quote. Lead times for custom work are typically 4–8 weeks.
Are there shade variations between boxes?
Natural stone always has variation — that's part of its character. We grade and sort each lot, but expect subtle differences between boxes. For color-critical projects, order all material from a single lot in one order.
Samples & selection
Can I order physical samples?
Yes. Registered Trade Program members receive samples free of charge — apply here. Everyone else can order up to 5 sample tiles (4×4 in or 6×6 in depending on material) for a $25 flat rate including shipping. Request samples here.
How long do samples take to arrive?
Samples ship within 2 business days and arrive in 3–5 business days via USPS or FedEx Ground.
Can I visit a showroom?
We send samples anywhere in the US, and we meet trade clients and serious buyers by appointment. Email marla@marlastoneco.com to arrange.

Do you offer trade pricing?

What about very large orders?
For projects over 1,000 ft² or specialty stone (large slabs, custom matching, full container loads from Mexico), we work direct with you on pricing and logistics. Request a custom quote.
Can you reserve material for an upcoming project?
Trade accounts can reserve specific lots for up to 60 days without payment. Retail customers can place a 30% deposit to hold material for up to 30 days.
Care & installation
How do I clean and maintain natural stone?
Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner — never vinegar, lemon, or generic bathroom cleaners (they etch the surface). Reseal cantera whenever water stops beading on the surface; lava stone doesn't need sealing. Wipe spills immediately, especially wine, citrus, and oil.
Do you provide installation services?
No. We supply the stone only. Installation should be done by a professional installer with experience setting and sealing porous natural stone. Share the installation guide on any product page with them before work begins.
Do I need to seal the stone?
Cantera, yes: seal it before grouting and reseal whenever water stops beading on the surface. Lava stone doesn't need sealing. Step-by-step instructions are in the Installation tab of every product page.
